Blue Nile Massage & Wellness started as a vision to create the deepest wellness experience using a holistic approach. That is what makes this experience so unique - all of my add-ons are complimentary! My goal is to encourage self care by helping you achieve and maintain optimal health. I cater to people who want to learn more about alternative health options and are seeking high quality treatments. Through education and clinical practice, my mission is to make wellness more accesible and empower people to take control of their health.
I offer effective, individualized treatments and services that enrich the mind, body and spirit. Through my therapeutic and holistic approach , I work to address the person as a whole and encourage the body's natural healing ability. Whether you are experiencing pain, curious about energy work or simply want to improve your wellbeing, Blue Nile Massage & Wellness provides a healing and inclusive environment to do so.
I have been working in the health and human service field since 2013. My passion for health and self-care has allowed me to further expand my knowledge in alternative health. My journey as a Registered Massage Therapist began in 2018 when I graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Along with studying anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology and more, I also participated in various clinics including prenatal, arthritis, sports, immuno-compromised and neurological conditions.
This experience allowed me to dive deeper into my love and understanding of holistic healing. I have taken additional courses in energy work, hot stones, cupping therapy, Indian and Thai style massage, birth support, and business. Through community volunteering, I have been able to make holistic health & wellness options more accessible to our communities and encourage self-care in people from all walks of life.
The name Blue Nile was inspired from two sources - my love of water and my love for my homeland, Ethiopia! I have always had a deep connection to the healing properties of water, and wanted to share my love of hydrotherapy through my practice. From bathing in hot springs in the Motherland, to ice baths in Montreal, to floating in the Meditterean Sea, to witnessing it's nurturing effects during birth, I have been able to explore the healing benefits of water on a deeper level. Connecting to the water has been an incredibly spiritual and cleansing experience along my own wellness journey, and I look forward to continuing to offer more hydrotherapy options soon - stay tuned!
In my spare time, I most enjoy exploring the outdoors with my three children and taking advantage of the natural beauty this province has to offer. When I'm not working, you can usually find me writing in my journal, at the gym, at yoga, or submerging myself in a new hobby or interest (currently learning about Human Design and light language!)
Healing and self-care are my daily practice. I believe we need to be well on the inside in order to do well on the outside. Taking time for yourself is crucial when it comes to your health and well-being. By integrating mind, body, and spirit, I strive to promote awareness of the interdependency of all these aspects when it comes to achieving optimal wellness.
I am aware of how constant demands on our bodies can leave us feeling drained, overwhelmed, and out of touch. Quieting our minds, nourishing our bodies, and pouring into our souls allows us to reset and face the world with clarity. At Blue Nile Massage & Wellness, I use my extensive training, experience, and in-depth understanding of the human body to teach and cultivate awareness of one's own health and wellness journey.
Allow me to be a part of yours.
